FILM VETS
John and Jamie Crittall have been responsible for animals used in filming since the late Seventies. John Crittall was one of the original ‘on set’ vets, looking after the first Andrex puppies. Jamie learnt the ropes from his father, John, whilst training at vet school, and between them, they have many movies, commercials and TV programmes under their belts.Jamie is an active member and past-Chairperson of ACTA, the Animal Consultants and Trainers Association. He is sole director of Beech House Veterinary Centre Ltd, (formerly known as Crittall & Westaway); the practice enables them to maintain their veterinary expertise to the highest levels whilst also ensuring an excellent back up. They have a branch practice in Shepperton, within easy reach of the Studios. Their combined experience covers small animals, livestock and zoo animals. They pride themselves on their knowledge, experience and professionalism at all times, both on set and on location. They ensure an animal’s welfare is never compromised, whilst understanding the needs of production and the director, helping the requested animal action to be achieved.
