We hope our comprehensive vaccine service provides you with the peace of mind to know your pets are receiving the best preventative healthcare for the whole of theirlife. We want to reassure you that your pets are as healthy as they possibly can be and our commitment to you is to help them live more happily for as long as possible.

One of our highly experienced Veterinary Surgeons will give your pet a full “head-to tail” clinical examination – equivalent to an MOT – before administering their vaccination. They will be weighed and their Body Condition score assessed and we will discuss their optimum dietary care. We recommend Hill’s petfoods because we know by being fed Hill’s, they will stay healthier & in better condition for longer. We will give you flea and worming advice and we always recommend appropriate dental care and oral hygiene.

We are confident that our range of vaccines will ensure their continued protection against fatal diseases and provide the safest and most effective way to maintain their immunity in future. We include Quarterly Nurse Checks at no extra charge since our pets age up to seven times faster than us humans, and we believe regular health checks are essential throughout the year. As each Season passes, your pets age at least another 2 years in human terms – and much can happen in this time. By attending these health checks, we hope our team of exceptionally well trained nurses can congratulate you and help you to keep your pets in the peak of health and fitness.

With such regular checks, we are far more likely to identify anything abnormal at the earliest possible moment and hopefully enable us to put it right just as quickly. To aid us with this early detection, we strongly recommend regular Blood and urine testing, especially for the 8’s & over. These extra tests enable us to monitor how your pets' internal organs are functioning and the results, if normal, further assure us of your complete health and provide us with baseline levels for them. If you would like us to perform these tests, please arrange for a morning appointment and do not offer them breakfast that day.

Puppy Playschool and Kitty Klasses
Puppy Playschool is held at Beech House, Hersham and is designed to be fun and a good way to socialize your puppy with others whilst learning the best ways to have the most fun with them. Kitty Klasses are one-on-one sessions for your kittens with our nurses to ensure they are growing and developing in the healthiest way.

Worming Advice and Treatment
As a Practice, we have always encouraged our clients to worm their dogs and cats regularly because of the Public Health issue of worms infecting humans. In consequence of this, the Practice adopts the policy set out in the British Small Animal Veterinary Association’s guidelines urging the use of effective worm treatments such as Drontal at least every three months but we can tailor a plan to suit you and your family's special requirements. We will send reminders so that you know when your pet is due another dose.

Flea Advice
Fleas are a cause of intense irritation to both you and your pets and can cause severe skin disease. The key to controlling them is to understand their life-cycle and the need for prevention. We have a range of the safest, most effective and easy to use flea products to stop an infestation in the home as well as on your pet. We will also remind you when you are running out so that your pet's cover doesn't lapse.

Pet Insurance - for that added peace of mind.
Pets are part of the family, so if they have an accident or illness it is a worrying time for all concerned. We encourage all owners to take out pet insurance and recommend Petplan since we believe their policies to provide the best cover because it covers illness, disease and injuries for the life of your pet. We are delighted to be an Appointed Representative for them and can therefore deal with your application and any queries on your behalf.

Microchipping - Have you ever worried about your pet getting lost or escaping? Many pet owners have that worry removed when their pet is Microchipped.
Microchipping enables your pet to be identified if found and is much more effective than the standard collar and tag option. At Beech House Vets we believe it’s so important we offer Microchipping free of charge as part of our primary vaccine service, and at a discounted price at other vaccination health checks.

Travelling abroad, and the Pet Travel Scheme (PETS)
Many of you might be considering taking your pets with you on your travels, according to the Pet Travel Scheme. Our Official Veterinarians continue to issue PETS passports to Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand. Our Rabies vaccination policy enables us to provide you with a passport that is valid for three years – the longest possible. We are also proud to be able to help you make the whole process easier and stress free. We can now supply you with all the necessary documentation, medications and even pet carriers to allow you to travel by air, land or sea to and from your chosen destination. With Procyon, we can now safely vaccinate puppies from as young as 6 weeks , completing their primary course from 10 weeks of age allowing for the earliest possible socialisation.

We understand how worrisome it is when your pet needs an operation and the risks involved so we only use the safest, and most trusted anaesthesic agents and protocols to reduce this. We are proud to be able to offer In House Pre-anaesthetic bloods and provide monitoring throughout every anaesthetic by our team of exceptional nurses. We are able to utilise enhanced monitoring methods such as pulse oximetry; blood pressure monitoring, and ECG whenever necessary. We can arrange both hydro- and physiotherapies for your pets. These are excellent ways to improve mobility and reduce the debilitating effects of arthritis. We are in the process of obtaining planning consent for our own Rehabilitation and Hydrotherapy Centre here at Beech House, where we will also offer our own physiotherapy clinics. We are aiming to provide the very latest techniques to help your pets recover from an injury, surgery or chronic musculoskeletal pain.
